Any eye medication during pregnancy has a potential risk to the mother and her foetus. Wether ophthalmic medications can be used during pregnancy is a very important issue. The informations of the FDA and the Rote Liste, and the experiences of the German and international pharmacovigilance centers help to find recommendations for the treatment of pregnant patients with eye diseases. Overall the risk of giving ophthalmic drugs to pregnant women is low.
